If you're visiting Apex Old Downtown, this place is a must-visit. The pizza is rich in flavor, and the meat sauce is surprisingly fresh. On weekends, you might have to wait a bit for your food, but it's definitely worth a visit.

Amazing pizza, amazing prices. The tortellini soup tastes just like my Nonna used to make. :)

We ordered two pizzas: The Rustica and a Ham and Pineapple. The pizzas were amazing. The crust was done to perfection and the sauce was well done. It was great to have such an amazing Gluten free crust on the Rustica. We highly recommend it. The Lobster Ravioli was good but not memorable. It's missing something.... We were shocked by the amazing dessert they brought us. Little pieces of cooked dough. Some smothered in powered sugar and the other with, what seemed to be cannoli filling. It came with two sauces. Simple yet incredible! Wow! The restaurant itself was cozy and quaint. The seats are well worn. I definitely will be back!! Thank you for a great experience!

Anna's is a must for those who enjoy Italian food. It seems many come for the pizza, which I've never tried. We always get pasta, and I have one dish I never pass up. You haven't lived until you have the penne Palermo, which I always substitute with spaghetti instead. It's in a creamy sauce with lots of delicious grilled sliced Italian sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach. It is divine!! Today, it was swimming in the sauce, but you can always ask for less. My spouse prefers spaghetti with a simple tomato sauce and not too much. The staff is wonderful. Always friendly and attentive. Even though we don't get here as often as we'd like, the gentleman who handles the bar area always remembers us. Nice! The restaurant is smallish inside, and when it's crowded, it can be quite loud. On a recent trip there was a party of 12. Four adults with 6 kids from high chair age on. The youngest was regularly screeching with little parental oversight, so it was quite jarring while trying to eat. They do have outdoor seating. If you prefer a larger dining room, I also suggest their location in Fuquay Varina. We've eaten there a number of times, and the food has the same quality of flavor, and they have angel hair pasta, which my spouse prefers. Plus, the size inside can accommodate a higher sound level.

A charming little neighborhood restaurant with the most patient, friendly, service for our family. The kids played with a wide selection of old metal matchbox type vehicles. There is a cute little bar that seats maybe 6 people. My slice of Sicilian was crispy and tasty and I even had leftovers to take home. I like the fresh tasting sauce for pasta and wanted to take the extra home, that's how I learned more about their service. The aluminum pan was heavier than I expected, and since I picked it up with just one hand, it folded up and spilled out - hitting 2 of our tables and dripping through the crack to the floor. EMBARRASSING! But I inquired, and I am permitted to return in the future!

Anna’s Pizzeria is the best Italian restaurant in the town of Apex—continue supporting this legendary restaurant in downtown Apex! They’ve maintained a high standard of excellence over the last 15 years. I always order the Penne a la vodka and it is tremendous. Their pizzas and other pastas as also delicious. I recommend dining in for any occasion, lunch and dinner.

Overall Score: 5.9/10 – A well-presented restaurant with a diverse menu, easy online ordering, and solid service, offering a decent takeout experience. Atmosphere and Service: 6.2/10 – The restaurant looks great inside and has a cool exterior, giving it a respectable and inviting feel. The service seemed nice, and the takeout experience was smooth. The online ordering process was simple, and the menu offered a wide variety of options. The food was ready on time, making for a convenient pickup experience. Cheese Pizza: 5.3/10 – A fairly basic pizza that was decent in quality but lacked any standout features. It tasted fine but didn’t have much of a wow factor, making it a very average but enjoyable option. Cheesesteak: 5.8/10 – A good, regular cheesesteak with decent quality. The portion was a little small, but the flavor was enjoyable. While nothing extraordinary, it was still a solid choice.

The star of the show? The pizza! Each pie boasts a perfect thin crust, with flavors that are rich and well-balanced, a sentiment echoed by loyal patrons like JAY HWANG, who notes that the pizza's flavors are "surprisingly fresh." The variety of options is impressive, from the classic Ham and Pineapple to the delectable Rustica, featuring a gluten-free crust that's as delightful as its traditional counterpart. And if you're craving something spicy to accompany your pizza, don't miss out on the superb spicy garlic chicken wings, famously praised by Hijrah Hassouneh.

But the delight doesn't stop at pizza. The menu is filled with Italian staples that tug at your heartstrings, like the tortellini soup that takes you back to cherished family gatherings, reminiscent of what your Nonna might have made. Foodies rave about the penne Palermo, drenched in a creamy sauce and brimming with grilled Italian sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach. For those who prefer pasta simplicity, the tomato sauce spaghetti is a hit, adapting to both the adventurous and the classic diner.

Don't forget to save room for dessert! Diners have been pleasantly surprised by delightful little pastries, some smothered in powdered sugar and others filled with a rich cannoli cream—an unexpected finish to a heartwarming meal.

Although the small space can become lively, especially with families celebrating, it only adds to the charm of Anna's Pizzeria, making each visit feel like a community gathering. For a quieter experience, consider their other location in Fuquay Varina.
